Stephen Valastro Gives Us a Firsthand Look at the GA Procedures Committee

Ruling Elder Stephen Valastro lets us know what he and the committee on which he’s serving have been doing:
“I am part of the General Assembly Procedures Committee. We are the ones who take overtures regarding the procedural process in which the GA is run and go over them and make our recommendations. There are about 65-68 people involved with and 61 of them on the actual committee. We are REC (Ruling Elder Commissioner), TEC (Teaching Elder Commissioner, YAAD (Young Adult Advisory Delegate) and TSAD (Theological Student Advisory Delegae. You would think that it would be impossible to get anything done with that many people but the first thing we did was a Covenant on how we would do business and we stuck to it getting everything we needed to accomplish done on time and with grace. The members are from all over the PC-USA with the ones near me being REC Kay Baker – Cascades Presbytery, REC Sara Porter – National Capitol Presbytery, YAAD Ellie Van der Griend – Chicago Presbytery and TEC Carl Von Eigen – Tampa Bay Presbytery. I even had one of the GA Vice Moderator candidates TEC Leslie A. King – Grace Presbytery sitting right behind me. It has been fantastic working with all of them. Thank you all for the Gracious oppurtunity to do so.”
